Job Profile

The company is recruiting a Field Automation Lead who will be responsible for establishing and administering the suite of Construction Automation applications on the job site. This includes, but is not limited to, the following Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs)-

• AWP Tools
• Bechtel Productivity Services (BPS) (Xfighters)
• ITR (Inspection Test Record application tracking) Smart Completion/Completion Module
• Measuring and Test Equipment
• Power Apps
• Preservation and Maintenance Module
• Set Routes
• Teamwork’s
• Unifier (NCR, RFI, FCD)
• WITS (Weld and Welder tracking system)

The position will report to the Project Field Engineer (PFE)

Educational Qualification

• Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a college or university (desired)
• The education may be waived if equivalent industry experience can be demonstrated.

Work Experience

• Experience with other Bechtel Standard applications, including PTR or Unifier, Set route, DSCS/EBS, and Aconex is desirable.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Field Engineer, Construction Coordinators, AWP Coordinators, and Lead Area Field Engineers by providing training, direction, and support to Teamwork and set route administrators who are responsible for data entry and report generation.
• Configure BSAPs to meet project requirements.
• Coordinate with design engineering, procurement, project controls, and other departments to establish automated data transfer between applications.
• Establish the data requirements to support construction work processes.
• Interface with corporate BSAP administrators to change functionality or configuration of applications to meet project-specific requirements.
• Provide ongoing administration to each BSAP.
• Provide training and technical support to BSAP end users, including field engineering, supervision, administration, project controls, and other site personnel.
• Review/trouble-shoot data for accuracy and completeness. Identify and address anomalies and report to the PFE.
• Understand reporting requirements for each application and configure reports accordingly. Ensure reports are accurate reflections of the data and are functioning as intended.
• Work with Project Field Engineer to establish the requirements for Construction Automation Systems.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• A good understanding of Bechtel’s standard construction work processes and procedures is desirable.
• Advanced level capability with MS Excel and Access is required. Experience with other database platforms is desirable.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.
• Extensive knowledge of Teamwork and associated applications is required.
• Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes is customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.
