Job Profile

The company is recruiting a Maintenance Technician who will safely maintain the efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and the supporting facility systems while complying with OSHA plant safety requirements.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants should have a High School Diploma or Equivalent

Work Experience

• Possess 5 years of relevant maintenance or troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing facility or other industrial plant (required)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Complete general housekeeping and sanitation in the shop area
• Complete preventative maintenance tasks and document essential information in the appropriate system
• Install, diagnose, and correct malfunctions of electrical controls, wiring, and equipment
• Install, maintain, diagnose malfunctions, and repair mechanical, electrical, and piping systems in the food processing
• Interact with other personnel to maintain the safe, efficient operation of the plant.
• Join metals by various processes in the repair, maintenance, and construction of plant equipment and facilities
• Learn and comply with all food safety, GMP, and sanitation policies and procedures.
• Lubricate, clean, and repair equipment as needed
• Maintain logs and records of work performed and materials and equipment used
• Maintain piping system throughout the entire plant
• Maintain, service, and rebuild a wide variety of plant machinery and equipment
• Monitor inventory and request equipment and supplies
• Operate and maintain various hand and power tools, pumps, motors, and meters
• Perform root cause analysis on equipment breakdowns and implement solutions to prevent reoccurrence
• Perform welding as required
• Respond to callouts and emergencies as required.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate mechanical equipment failures and perform necessary corrective actions on a wide variety of production equipment
• Other assignments or projects as requested by any member of management.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
• Ability to make good decisions, including exhibiting sound and accurate judgment; supporting and explaining the reasoning for decisions; including the appropriate people in the decision-making process; making timely decisions; and identifying when issues should be referred to appropriate leadership
• Ability to perform in-depth needs assessment, recognize problems, and opportunities, and propose solutions. Ability to ask effective questions to gather information for a needs assessment. Ability to analyze situations and translate them into priorities and action plans
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, operating instructions, technical procedures, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
• Ability to use graphic instructions such as blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts, or other visual aids
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Critical thinking skills with the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Ability to research and interpret a variety of information and data. Ability to see both the big picture and the details. Ability to think at a systems level

Desired Experience

• Ability to effectively and safely operate heavy equipment and machinery
• The ability to operate a powered industrial lift truck (forklift) is preferred, but training will be provided
