Job Profile

The company is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Manager who will develop and implement a world-class quality management system and institute/refine processes to build a world-class electric and fuel cell-powered semi-truck.

Be responsible to maintain the highest level of quality through the manufacturing process from the manufacturing line inspection to dynamic vehicle testing and concluding with pre-delivery preparation.

Must have good visual knowledge of how vehicles and components are assembled.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial) or equivalent from a college/university

Work Experience

  • Possess a minimum of 8 eight years of experience

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Coach, mentor, develop, direct, train, and evaluate the work of the Manufacturing Quality and metrology personnel
  • Collaborate with Launch Quality to incorporate lessons learned and quality reviews of product trial build, developing appropriate end-of-line inspections
  • Develop dimensional management processes based on manufacturing best practices, work closely with metrologists and technicians
  • Develop, implement, and track product level quality targets for production
  • Direct interface with engineering and manufacturing personnel to develop future vehicle designs with a Design for Manufacturing focus.
  • Document and remedy the cause of product deficiencies, including statistical analysis and required CAPA reporting for all defects and nonconformances
  • Guarantee timely inspection, calibration, and accuracy of monitoring and measuring devices
  • Lead procurement of metrology systems for factory manufacturing fixtures, incoming parts evaluation, and finished product verification
  • Lead team of engineering specialists to perform dimensional analysis and inspection on components/assemblies and provide input/feedback to achieve the highest product quality
  • Monitor, measure and review internal processes that impact the quality of the organization’s products
  • Participate in DFMEA and PFMEA development to incorporate built-in design quality to ensure highly repeatable dimensional accuracy and the proper process controls to ensure 100% quality
  • Responsible for receiving inspection of components/sub-assemblies, final inspection of a finished product, and dimensional inspection of components/assemblies or finished product
  • Review and audit business management processes for internal manufacturing and external suppliers with a focus on product and process improvement
  • Utilize knowledge and experience in GD&T to implement best-in-class dimensional accuracy for BIW structure and final assembly product

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Demonstrate an ability to manage complex projects with tight timing constraints, providing examples of such scenarios throughout one’s career
  • Effective problem solver with knowledge and experience utilizing structured problem-solving methodology and experience introducing new products
  • Exceptional organizational ability with good follow-up skills and attention to detail is a must
  • Expertise in GD&T of complex product systems and problem-solving techniques
  • Familiarity with measurement analysis software systems and tools to evaluate production fixtures, stamping parts, welding sub-assemblies, and supplier parts
  • Flexible to support travel for product development reviews (minimum 20%)
  • Must be self-motivated, with a desire to continuously improve and learn
  • Project launch experience from initial concept to final production
  • Strong background in SPC, with demonstrated capability of providing and implementing effective solutions to achieve the desired output
  • Working knowledge of large truck/automotive manufacturing processes and dimensional requirements

  • Candidates must have current U.S. work authorization or be TN eligible from Mexico or Canada.
  • This position is not eligible for CPT or OPT.
