Job Profile

The company is recruiting a Material Handler who will be responsible for working with Fabrication Managers or Crib Attendant to stage parts and materials of jobs for Fabricators, working with Steel Receiving in separating and staging materials received from vendors, and working with Fabricators to make sure they have everything they need to do their job.

May also be responsible for driving the Company truck for building-to-building transfers as well as local deliveries and pick-ups.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants should have a High School Diploma or Equivalent

Work Experience

• Possess 1 year of minimum experience in a manufacturing environment

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assisting in moving large equipment
• Excellent communication with a variety of manufacturing personnel
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and conduct themselves in a safe manner
• Maintenance of consumable inventory levels for the Manufacturing floor
• Moving stock throughout the plant
• Operate basic manufacturing equipment and tools
• Promote excellence throughout the department
• Provide timely consumable products to the Manufacturing floor throughout the day
• Responsible for tagging and placing materials and parts in proper locations
• Transferring parts and materials from building to building, local deliveries, and pick-ups
• Work in other areas of the operation as directed by supervision
• Work independently with only simple verbal instructions

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to operate basic manufacturing equipment and tools
• Ability to read blueprints, lists of material, and routers
• Current Medical Examiner’s License (or ability to obtain)
• Dedication to excellence and a quality output
• General Math Skills
• Valid Michigan Chauffeurs License (or valid Driver’s License with the ability to obtain)

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to talk and hear.
• Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
• Must frequently lift or move items over 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
