The company is seeking a Millwright Welder-Machinist to join its team

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have a Journeyman Welder, Millwright, or Machinist Certification

Work Experience

  • 2+ years of Journeyman Millwright or Machinist
  • 5+ years of Journeyman welder
  • Honing, Lapping, and Welding (TIG/Stick) Experience
  • Previous rotating equipment repair experience

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ensure work safety and follow all rules and procedures; the work area is kept clean and organized
  • Fill out all required work documents including Specification in Process Record, Daily Work Progress, Assessments, Routings, Timesheets, etc.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical equipment issues
  • Required to use all hand tooling, torches, milling machines and boring mills, precision measuring equipment, and rigging and lathes; there is also overhead crane use
  • Support Lead Hand Millwright or Machinist in all functional areas
  • Verify measurements of other millwrights’ work to meet ISO requirements

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to balance Steam and turbo Components
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints
  • Knowledge of critical dimensions within the equipment.
  • Knowledge of operation of steam/turbo components
  • Must be able to lift 30 kg/75 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble rotating equipment
  • Willingness to travel across Canada for Field Operations, if needed
