Job Profile
The company is looking for a Pipeline Controller who will proactively monitor or control pipelines, plants, compressors, pressures, flows, tank levels, and alarms, recognizing and resolving issues by taking necessary action to handle both emergency and non-emergency situations.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience
- Possess 3+ years of industry experience (preferably in gas control or field operations)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Accurately record and relay information as necessary. Communication can be verbal or written
- Build relationships both internally and externally by providing seamless communication
- Comply with all state and federal regulations
- Coordinate with Operations, Commercial Services, Commercial Marketing, and Engineering regarding the information on the pipeline system(s)
- Ensure that nominations are met and pipeline imbalances are minimized.
- Keep co-workers and gas control management aware of pipeline issues and activities
- Maintain the integrity of the pipeline through remote control valve changes, instructing field personnel to make manual valve changes and starting and stopping compression or pumps as necessary
- Monitor Alarms and system telemetry status
- Monitor Microsoft Excel system balance sheets
- Prepare and monitor daily and monthly reports
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to work a rotating 12-hour day/night shift; (including weekends and holidays)
- Must be able to visually monitor several computer screens in a control room environment for twelve (12) hour shifts. Must maintain a high level of mental alertness and be capable of quickly processing and reacting to incoming information from the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System. Response time is very critical
- Must have computer skills
- Must live within a reasonable distance of work location
- Must pass pre-employment background, which includes driving record
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and is subject to random drug testing
- Must speak Fluent English
- Must work well in a team environment
