Job Profile

The company is searching for a Pipeline Engineer who will perform pipeline engineering tasks; including, but not limited to, pipeline-related calculations, alignment sheets, route maps, site-specific and detail drawing development, and flow assurance support.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants should possess either a recognized degree in engineering from an accredited college or university (or international equivalent)

Work Experience

• Possess a minimum of 10+ years of relevant pipeline experience
• Experience and knowledge of ASME, API, AWWA, ASTM, and MSS codes/product specifications are essential. Specific knowledge of ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, and CFR (a must)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Coordinates work and collaborate with other engineering disciplines.
• Ensures that engineering is carried out in accordance with Bechtel’s work processes and procedures, project-specific procedures, and contractual requirements.
• Ensures that pipeline design meets industry best practices and complies with pertinent pipeline codes and standards, governing regulations, and industry practices.
• Evaluates, selects, and applies standard pipeline engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
• Performs pipeline engineering tasks; including, but not limited to, pipeline-related calculations, alignment sheet, route map, site-specific and detail drawing development, and flow assurance support.
• Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and staffing requirements for proposals, forecasts, and change orders.
• Prepares or assists in the preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or bid proposals for pipelines.
• Prepares specifications, data sheets, material requisitions, and bid evaluations.
• Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project pipeline requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution.
• Provides technical assistance to other pipeline personnel and will interact with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues.
• Reviews and checks the work of subordinate engineers.
• Reviews vendor-provided data, documentation, and drawings.
• Supports the creation of a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Registered as a Professional Engineer in Texas or another state is preferred or a Professional Engineering-in-Training (EIT) license from a recognized licensing board.
• Skill in oral and written communication.
• Understanding of industry or regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the pipeline discipline.
