Job Profile

The company is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician (Bench Hand) who will be responsible for the operation of miscellaneous processes supporting the production team.

Additionally, the Technician will also be responsible for ensuring the continuous flow of materials and parts through the assigned cell.

Educational Qualification

  • The applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience

  • The candidates should have 1 to 2 years of experience working with brazing, soldering, and or welding techniques.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Disassemble non-conforming parts from production in order to repair, reassemble, or prep them for the production team.
  • Maintain accurate and reliable documentation.
  • Manufacture and/ or tests parts according to engineering and customer standards and specifications.
  • Operates vacuum heat-treating furnaces where loading methods, temperature, time, and quench medium are prescribed.
  • Perform inspection and/or testing-related activities to ensure that parts are machined in accordance with manufacturing standards and blueprint specifications.
  • Prepares and sets up parts and assemblies for welding or brazing to established shop practice from blueprints.
  • Uses a variety of hand tools, shears, grinders, drills, saws, tube bending and flaring equipment, pipe threading, and other items to be used in assembly.
  • Welding, TIG/MIG, arc and gas welding, soldering, brazing, and other bonding techniques.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to read, understand, and correctly interpret basic blueprint drawings
  • Demonstrates basic hands-on mechanical or electrical components and their principles, properties, and theories.
  • Effective interaction with team members, customers, and all levels of management
  • Physical lifting requirements include the ability to lift 50 pounds (4 inches to 25 inches), pushing/pulling a weight of 60 pounds, grip strength of at least 50 pounds, and the ability to reach above the shoulder (65 inches).

Other Requirements

  • Citizenship status required. Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance if needed.
  • Candidates selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
