Job Profile

The company is searching for an Assembler/Welder who will be responsible for the final assembly in the U Joint area, ensuring all parts are suitable for the final product.

Educational Qualification

  • The applicants should have a High School diploma or Equivalent
  • Shop Trade Knowledge is preferred

Work Experience

  • The candidates may be required some previous work-related experience.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Advise supervisor or other designated personnel when special/unusual conditions or situations arise during the assembly of the units as well as parts shortages, incorrect material received for assemblies, or discrepancies on orders or prints.
  • All rebuild CRM parts are to be palletized, correctly labeled, and stretch wrapped for long-term storage.
  • Be able to determine the allowance for shrinkage and distortion when fitting up.
  • Fit up and weld various weights, sizes, shapes, and materials. Adjustments to current and voltage settings might be required. Use proper procedure required for gas welding and cutting.
  • Follow procedures and instructions as outlined on the production order or as instructed on special modification sheets attached to the order.
  • Keep work area safe, clean, and orderly and maintain 5S requirements.
  • Operate material handling equipment, (overhead crane, jitney, cherry picker, etc.) to unload trucks, retrieve work materials from staging areas, and cold storage.
  • Operation of painting equipment, paint booth, and proper preparation of materials is required prior to painting. Apply rust preventative (oil, grease, paint, etc.) to parts/components as required.
  • Preheat weldments as required to prevent cracking or distortion. Do the necessary operations for the cleaning of weldments. Perform layout and fit-up procedures using blueprints.
  • Prep/clean parts for dimensional inspection and magnetic particle testing. and package for long-term storage. Hand stamp required information on parts or units as required.
  • Set up and operate hydraulic presses, hydraulic porta power, various hand tools, and other equipment for installing or removing parts on shafts or other components during the processing of new and repaired parts and weldments.
  • Set up and operate Magnaflux Equipment, Balancer, and Manual Engine Lathe.
  • Use heat (cutting or heating torches) when needed for sweating parts on or off shafts or other components. Use dry ice, oil, or liquid nitrogen to shrink parts when required. Use overhead and jib cranes for removing and holding material.
  • Use precision measuring tools to accurately inspect rebuild CRM parts/components. Record inspected dimensions on a supplied inspection report form.
  • Work from assembly and parts blueprints to assemble/disassemble parts/components.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Demonstrated Ability a level of demonstrated ability needed to be able to perform all of the above functions of the job.
  • Drawings/Specs reading and comprehension of drawings/specifications and/or written instructions.
  • Knowledge of Theory and Practice the basic understanding or knowledge of the required theory and practices needed to perform the job.
  • Measuring Instrument correctly reading and recording of Measuring instruments that are required in the job
  • Shop Math the required mathematical abilities to perform the necessary functions of the job

Physical Demand/Work Environment

  • Physical demands – standing, bending, reaching for extended periods of time.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
