Job Profile

The company is seeking a Fabricator who will be responsible to fabricate production-assisted devices and other production-related items.

  • Possess 3 to 4 years of experience in a similar role

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Abide by all company policies including, but not limited to the following: Health and safety, Quality and Environmental Systems,
  • Decision Making: Draft sketches as needed as per requirements; Determine the correct method of fabrication based on the project
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide a quality product
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and legislation including Environmental Legislation and Occupational Safety and Health Act. Working Conditions:
  • Ensures and maintains welding in good working order.
  • Evaluates and interpret show drawings, sketches and other data to be used in the preparation of the product to be a manufacturer
  • Fabricates racks, railings, and bins and general maintenance work. Prepare parts using shear, break press, roller, band saw, drill, and punch press
  • Frequent need to give concentrated attention to surroundings
  • Frequent requirements of handling heavy equipment (operation)

  • On a functional basis, this role has the following reporting relationships: Indirectly reports to the Production Supervisor
  • Preps metals, layouts, cuts, and fit materials for welding.
  • Quantitative Measurables: 5 to 6 jobs a day a week
  • Recommendations: Cost Savings, Quality, and Safety
  • Weld in all positions, welds flat, vertical, and horizontal surfaces
  • Works with various types and sizes of metal such as stainless steel, aluminum, cast and wrought iron, brass, and bronze, using various welding methods such as gas metal arc welding (MIG), gas tungsten arc welding (TIG), shielded metal arc welding (SMAC), flux core arc welding (FCAW)

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to problem solve and follow standardized practices and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and draw from experience with minimal supervision
  • Mechanical aptitude; thorough knowledge of machine print reading and interpretation,
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Working knowledge of Mills and Lathes
  • 100% plant floor (PPE required)
