Job Profile

The company is looking for a General Mechanic who will create value by performing mechanical maintenance, installation, and optimization of the facility so that it can operate at its highest performance level, meeting production goals, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Educational Qualification

• The applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED
• Possess a 2-year degree or higher in Industrial Mechanical Maintenance and 1-year experience in Industrial Mechanical Maintenance.

Work Experience

• 3 years or more experience in Industrial Mechanical Maintenance (Millwright, Pipefitter, Welder, Machinist).
• 2 years or more of experience as a General Mechanic in an industrial environment
• Experience diagnosing and repairing various mechanical equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, power and transmission systems, conveyors, etc.
• Experience reading blueprints, Sketches, and schematics.
• Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System

Duties/Responsibilities

• Apply all applicable codes, regulations, reliability strategies, safety, environmental, and OEM standards.
• Improve operations productivity and quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning,
• Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and systems
• Perform emergency maintenance on failed equipment to ensure minimal equipment downtime
• Perform precision maintenance and repairs such as cutting and welding of various materials such as pipe, plate, and structural, laser alignment, rigging, bearing installation and removal, coupling installation and removal, belt and chain maintenance
• Perform routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance on mechanical equipment throughout the plant.
• Successfully support daily activities, shutdowns, long-term planning, and capital projects
• Support reliability initiatives such as lubrication, vibration, and ultrasound predictive systems
• Complete precision paperwork

• Knowledge of mechanical hazards/safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Self-motivated with a sense of urgency

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with SAP, Computerized Maintenance Management System
• Experience working with Electrical and Instrumentation Technicians
• Good computer skills
• Hydraulics experience
• Papermill experience
• Pneumatics experience
