Job Profile

Eaton’s Electrical Power Systems division is currently seeking a Machine Operator & Welder who will be responsible for operating constant voltage welding equipment, mechanized seam welders, sheet rollers, expanding machine, grinder, and jib crane.

The individual will fabricate and assemble regulator tank shells with leak-proof seams. An operator checks parts against blueprints for proper dimensions and locations and signs off on safety and quality checklists.

Educational Qualification

  • The applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree) from an accredited institution.
  • Must have a welding certification from an accredited institution OR successful completion of a welding certification program from an accredited technical school.

Work Experience

  • The candidates should a minimum of 2 years of welding and metal fabrication experience.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Acquire materials daily through the use of a forklift per order requirements.
  • Assist co-workers with the movement of units within the work center.
  • Check material specifications, dimensions on shop orders, and prints against customer specifications for accuracy.
  • Grind excess weld from seams, edges, and gasket seats to improve the fit of parts, scrape and wipe down a unit to ensure it meets applicable customer requirements.
  • Operate jib and bridge crane to move and position heavy parts onto machines for each operation.
  • Roll steel sheet into tank shell, seam weld rolled tank shell, run shell through all other machine operations and install necessary components per the order process sheet.
  • Stage completed tank shells for next operation, stamping with an employee identification number.
  • Support regulator tank kitting as needed.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Able to understand standard shop specifications (shop drawings, process sheets, and measuring equipment, etc.).

Other Requirements

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Relocation is being offered for this role.
  • Successfully complete Eaton weld test.
