Job Profile
The company is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic who will repair the crushing, screening, conveying, and pumping equipment, and also perform brazing, welding, arc-welding, and cutting tasks.
Challenged to repair and maintain quarry processing equipment.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants require a High School Diploma
Work Experience
- Possess 3 to 5 years of experience in mining or heavy construction environment (required)
- 3 to 5 years of experience working on equipment maintenance (highly preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Ability to diagnose and adjust equipment for optimum performance
- Ability to perform high levels of maintenance and servicing on a plant with little assistance
- Ability to safely and efficiently operate front-end loader, skid steer, man-lift
- Ability to work in confined and small spaces
- Communicate with plant management on all safety and maintenance needs
- Conduct a complete pre-and post-shift safety inspection
- Inspect, check, and maintain lubrication levels in equipment used
- Maintain work area in a clean, organized, and safe fashion
- Must have welding and torch skills
- Need to have own tools for repair work
- Observe all safety precautions and rules specified by federal, state, and company regulations
- Report unsafe conditions, accidents, or incidents immediately to the Lead person or Manager
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using Imperial units of measure.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., walk, stand, sit, stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, and descend ladders and stairs. Work in cramped confined spaces.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems and centrifugal/ vertical pumps (a plus)
- Ability to write short messages and conduct one on one and small group conversations for information sharing. Primary language – English.
- Flexibility with work hours is mandatory.
- Knowledge of safety rules and regulations, OSHA and MSHA
- A safety-oriented individual with a good safety record.
