Job Profile
The company is looking for a Welder who will be responsible for carrying out the required standard activities of their assigned tasks, in full compliance with the Work Instruction or Standard Operating Procedure, and without compromise to their own, and colleagues, safety.
Educational Qualification
- The applicants should have a recognised indentured Apprenticeship in welding practices or the equivalent NVQ standard. An understanding of welding, soldering, and brazing thin plate stainless steel, titanium, and aluminium to achieve Aircraft Standards.
Work Experience
- The candidates should have previous manufacturing experience in a factory environment that would be desirable.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Be an active member of the team, promoting collective engagement with each other
- Become certified at the Lean Foundation level and implement at least 1 Kaizen per month
- Contribute to their team in creating a Great Place to Work by role-modeling safety-first, a Kaizen mindset, and supporting their colleagues
- Exemplify a safety-first mindset and follow all GKN Aerospace Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and standards
- Hold themselves, and fellow team members accountable to embody the GKNA culture principles
- Support the team and TL in problem-solving, contributing ideas based upon their own experience of their tasks

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to work to standard operating procedures
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and techniques to support our continuous improvement initiatives
- Must be able to work in small teams with Team Leaders
- Self-motivated team player with good communication skills
