Job Profile
The company is looking for a Welding Inspector who will ensure compliance with drawing and welding procedures.
The role will involve working directly with Welding Operators and customers to support the manufacture of heat exchanger assemblies.
The position will report to the Special Process Manager.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should be CSWIP Level 3.1 qualified (essential)
Work Experience
- Demonstrated TIG Welding experience in Aluminum and Stainless/Nickel Alloys (essential)
- Minimum City and Guilds Fabrication and Welding qualified or equivalent
- Quality assurance focused
Duties/Responsibilities
- Define re-work and repair schemes and document accordingly
- Ensure welds are performed to drawing and weld procedures
- Mentor and provide constructive feedback to Fitting and Welding Operators
- Participate in RRCA investigations and support implementing robust corrective actions
- Perform post-weld visual inspection to ensure Quality requirements are achieved
- Perform pre-weld visual fit-up and welding equipment verification
- Support improvement activities to remove waste and improve efficiency
- Undertake department spot checks to ensure TPM and continued NADCAP compliance
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Candidate must be computer literate
- Ability to support technical discussions related to welding
- Highly-motivated, flexible, responsive to change, and calm under pressure
- Knowledge of weld measurement techniques and equipment
- Works well in a team environment and has the ability to work across various departmental functions within the Company
